The Yamas & Niyamas: Yoga's Gatekeeping Principles w/Kate Lyles
The Yamas and the Niyamas are the first two of the eight limbs of yoga. Together they outline ten ethical principles that guide our work in yoga both on and off the mat. These intangible concepts are worthy of discussion, interpretation, and reinterpretation. They serve as gatekeepers to the rest of our yoga practice as they are the lens through which we are asked to explore.
This workshop serves as an introduction to these essential concepts. We will engage in conversation and exploration regardingly each philosophy both individually and as they relate to one another in a larger interconnected web. If you have met them before, met them again (and again, and again). The yamas and the niyamas are an ongoing yoga conversation meant to last at least this lifetime... if not also the next.
