Vinyasa and Lunch Vinyasa

This all levels class focuses on synchronizing the breath with movement that challenges the body, and as a result, quiets the mind. Students will experience a safe, thoughtful, creative flow All teachers are well-trained on how to adjust and modify poses for everyone from newer students to advanced yogis. You will build strength, flexibility, relieve stress, and increase awareness in your body and mind.

Beginners

Beginner’s Vinyasa will begin with the basics, incorporating proper asana alignment, pranayama, and the fundamentals of yoga philosophy. This class will move at a slower pace and great care will be given to move safely and gently in all postures. Modifications will be offered, and props will be utilized to enable each practitioner access to the postures. It is a wonderful class for those with physical limitations, seasoned yogis nursing an injury, or for those who just want a break from their rigorous practice. This class will not be heated and there will be plenty of room to spread out. No experience or flexibility is necessary, just bring a positive attitude and an open mind.

Yoga for Older Adults

This class incorporates seated and standing postures that are modified to safely accommodate the needs of an older adult. Yoga is beneficial for those of all ages and especially for those seeking to increase and maintain flexibility, balance and range of motion. There is also evidence that yoga for older adults can aid in digestion, lower blood pressure, and improve sleep. This class will help the student build strength and get the heart pumping. Along with the physical benefits, connecting movement with the breath can help promote relief from stress and mental clarity, and most of all, it’s fun! (A chair will be provided for those with a need.)

Afternoon Align the Mind Flow

Align your body and mind in the afternoon! This slower paced yoga class is designed to help ease the effects of your work day.  Stress and sitting at a desk can take it’s toll on the body. Slowing down the pace can bring an additional awareness to the breath and alignment in Surya Namaskar and all of the asanas that will allow you to relax and clear your mind.  All levels are welcome.

Mama Baby Boot Camp

Join Anne, physical therapist and certified women’s health specialist, for a fun and effective postpartum workout series. Class will incorporate cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and focused abdominal and pelvic floor activities while using knowledge of postpartum mechanics to do so safely. For Mama and baby 6 weeks to pre-crawling. Mamas with mobile babies who have childcare options are encouraged to join us!

Calibrate and Control Sequence

This class is comprised of stationary yoga postures that are not connected by a vinyasa. You will experience detailed cues and intelligent sequencing that will help you refine alignment and build strength. Appropriate for all levels of practitioners.

Restorative Yoga

If the hectic pace of daily life has sent you into overdrive, restorative yoga is for you. Perfect for all levels, this class will help you unwind and find deep relaxation.  With the support of props, you will move through a few simple asanas, holding the postures for extended periods of time to enable you to connect with the breath and the mind while gently stretching the targeted areas. Restorative yoga is an excellent way to sooth the nervous system, quiet the flight or flight response, and create a sense of peace and calm.

Yin Yoga

This class will provide you with a sequence of seated and supine postures that are held for 3 to 5 minutes each. The long holds allow you to passively stretch the deeper connective tissues. Different from restorative yoga that is designed to relax, this yin class seeks to mobilize and strengthen our joints, ligaments and deep fascia.

Sunrise Vinyasa

Wake up your body and set the tone for your day with this vinyasa class. This perfectly paced class will warm, stretch, stimulate digestion and get the blood pumping. Start your day right!

Meditation on Light

Meditation on Light, or Trataka, brings the mind to Dharana, or single-pointed focus, the sixth limb of yoga. We will be establishing a center within by safely learning the technique of candle gazing. We will use light to help us focus on our third eye chakra. Regular practice of this form of meditation can guide us along the road to tranquility and bliss.

Fit Moms Prenatal Exercise

This prenatal fitness class is a unique blend of cardiovascular, resistive training, yoga, and childbirth education.  It focuses on overall well-being throughout your pregnancy while emphasizing the primary muscle groups essential for delivery and postpartum recovery.  Its s never too early or too late in your pregnancy to start this class and is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is a way to stretch and strengthen your body, primarily the muscles of the core, which span from your hips to your shoulders. It borrows from disciplines such as dance, yoga and classic calisthenics. The standard Pilates system of exercise uses many different pieces of equipment, such as the reformer, cadillac and barrel.  Mat Pilates, however, is a series of exercises performed equipment-free, with the moves adapted to work with just your body and a floor mat for cushioning and support.

Barre

Barre class uses a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements. The use of light weights and mat work are also included in the workout.

Buti Yoga

Buti Yoga is a dynamic practice that blends primal movement with cardio bursts and vibration to tone the body, spiritually and physically. This 60 minute class will take place in a 78-80 degree room and the typical calorie burn ranges from 600-900 calories. Join Melinda Janofsky, Integrative Health Coach, ERYT and Communications Coordinator for Athleta, as she leads us in this fun class! All levels welcome!
