Ayurveda: Living Truth w/Julia Byrem

Ayurveda: Living Truth

Ayurveda is an ancient art and science, sometimes called “the sister-science” of yoga. It is based on an elemental understanding of the composition of all things, and how these elements relate to one another. For humans, understanding our own composition and our relationship to our environment is key to good health and happiness.

This workshop will provide a broad understanding of Ayurvedic philosophy and lifestyle, individual constitution, and a plan of integrated self-care that will inevitably lead to positive change.

A note from Julia:

“I am a Yoga Alliance certified E-RYT 500 and YACEP. My formal training in yoga and ayurveda was completed at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health where I studied with honored teachers Dr. Scott Blossom, Dr. Rosy Mann, and Joseph Le Page among others. Most recently I completed the Magu advanced teacher training with Alex Auder in Philadelphia.

I have had the incredible experiences of learning about restorative justice and practices with Sonya Shah and the Ahimsa Collective, as well as with Kay Pranis at the Summer Peacebuilding Institute at Eastern Mennonite University. I hold a master's degree in social justice & women's spirituality, and am currently pursuing a doctorate in Liberation Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. My informal training continues daily, as I remain open to the continual learning of what it means to be an agent of sustainable and meaningful change.”
